Starting 2026 with Real Social Value: Supporting Employer Training Needs

As we move into 2026, employers face increasing pressure to demonstrate authentic social value alongside commercial performance. Training offers a powerful way to do both.

By working with Challenge-trg Skills, employers can align training strategies with social value commitments.

Social value works best when it is built into the fabric of how organisations develop their people not added on as an afterthought.

Social value that works in the real world

Through our partnership with PeoplePlus, Challenge-trg Skills helps employers move beyond social value pledges and deliver real-world impact, using training as the catalyst.

PeoplePlus has long championed a simple but powerful approach to social value – creating opportunities for people furthest from the labour market, supporting progression through skills and employability, and strengthening communities through meaningful work.

By aligning our training offers to these principles, Challenge-trg Skills gives employers practical, credible ways to embed social value into their training strategy. Rather than relying on bolt-on initiatives, training becomes the engine that drives inclusion, productivity and long-term impact.

This means social value that improves access to skills and employment, supports progression and retention – not just recruitment, and benefits local communities and regional economies.

A direct social value offer with immediate impact

Alongside our wider training provision, Challenge-trg Skills offers targeted initiatives designed to deliver direct, measurable social value outcomes for employers and their communities.

These initiatives enable organisations to go beyond policy commitments and demonstrate tangible investment in local people, skills and employability.

An example of this is our Lift Up pledge which focuses on upskilling people through a free training provision that delivers a clear and lasting social value impact.

When an employer books 50 or more FLT training places, Challenge-trg Skills will deliver a FREE Level 2 Social Value course for 12 people within the local community.

This pledge supports employers to create visible, place-based impact while strengthening their wider workforce development strategy.

The Lift Up pledge supports your CSR and ESG strategy by:

  • Creating a lasting legacy of learning within your local community
  • Supporting government priorities around adult education, skills and work readiness
  • Demonstrating a clear commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and community investment
  • Providing a measurable social value outcome that can be evidenced in bids, reporting and stakeholder engagement

Our Commercial Training Courses

In addition to initiatives such as the Lift Up pledge, Challenge-trg Skills also offers a comprehensive range of commercial training solutions.

Our broad range of commercial training courses are tailored to specific industries and job roles. These courses help organisations upskill workforces, meet compliance requirements and create safer, more capable teams.

Challenge-trg Skills commercial training offer includes:

  • FLT and Counterbalance training – supporting safe, efficient operations within logistics, warehousing and industrial environments

These courses can be delivered as standalone training or as part of a wider workforce development programme.

Turning pledges into progress

Many employers make social value pledges with the best intentions, but struggle to evidence delivery. Challenge-trg Skills works with organisations to translate those commitments into structured training programmes that create tangible outcomes.

This includes supporting:

  • Inclusive workforce development – equipping new starters, returners and career changers with the skills and confidence to succeed
  • Progression and upskilling – helping existing employees move into higher-skilled, higher-value roles
  • Fair access to opportunity – embedding training routes that reduce barriers and widen participation
