Colleague Testimonials at Tesco

Before my interview I was very apprehensive about the support I would get from ctrg, since I am hard of hearing. My previous interview experience was negative, due to lack of knowledge and support for the deaf community.
As I arrived for my interview, I informed the interviewer that I was hard of hearing and heavily rely on lip reading and would need quiet areas. The interviewer, Stacey, made me feel very welcome straight away by mentioning she already knew about my additional needs and was happy to help. Throughout the interview she made sure she was loud, clear and always faced me when she spoke.
On induction day I was well looked after by all the staff in training which made me feel as if i was going to be accepted and well catered for. During my probation I struggled to start with, I was shown techniques and skills by the new starter supervisors on how to make things easier and how to achieve my performance target and I passed my probation! Overall, I would say ctrg are very disability aware, understanding and friendly.

I started in March 2020 and this was my first job. I heard about this job as my partner was already working here. During this time, I got the support by having the same shifts as my partner, I also had a chance to work with people from different countries and that helped develop my language skills.
The job at the beginning was quite difficult, because of the new environment and having to do a lot of heavy assignments. I was given the time to understand how to do the job and I managed to get really good performance, hitting my targets.
I was also offered a second skill a year ago doing DEKIT, which gave me more variety of tasks in the job and keeps me motivated. I have never had any issues with any colleagues on the floor, everyone is nice to me, and I feel respected. My team leader and the management are always, approachable, and helpful.
Since ctrg came In, i feel there is a better structure in place. Before, we only had supervisors, but now if I need to go somewhere higher, we have consultants who can help. I like this job because it gives me variety at my workplace and is rewarding.

I have started to work in Tesco Distribution Centre Livingston with ctrg in July. 2024. Francesca who conducted my interview prior to my starting date, was professional and very helpful.
The training was also good. It was a lot of information, however the ctrg training team made the process look easy. All my questions were answered and any concerns I had; the team was there to help me. The training was organised in groups, some of the questions that were asked weren’t crossing my head, and it was good to hear the answers.
After the training week I met my crew manager who was professional and approachable. I have had a good experience with the colleagues on the floor, and sometimes i still had some questions and whoever was next to me took their time to explain the questions I had.

”In short, the whole process was so smooth, and comfortable. The friendly staff right from the receptionist to the interviewer helped in creating a very welcoming and friendly environment
.
The interview was straight forward, infact, the interviewer made me to quickly settle down and get focused by her friendly smile and coolness. She was so composed and confident in handling the whole process and this enabled everything to flow smoothly.
The interviewer was eloquent and gave very clear instructions. I also loved the session where she gave me time to ask questions where I needed clarifications. Her responses to my questions were honest and sincere.
The whole process made me feel I already belong to the TESCO family as I also believe that there is a lot to give and gain at TESCO”
