About Kinnerton Confectionary

 

Kinnerton Confectionary began its chocolate production in Sherburn site in 2006 and boasts of a footprint of around 8,500 square metres. We have two sites situated in Sherburn in Elmet, Leeds, LS25 6PJ and Fakenham, NR21 8AF. 

As part of the Zertus Group, Kinnerton is one of the largest chocolate manufacturers in the UK with sites in London, East Anglia, and Yorkshire. They also have international offices in Hong Kong and Australia. Their operation has grown into a child’s chocolate dreamland full of Easter eggs, advent calendars, delicious lollipops, and chocolate bars. All of these are produced in Kinnerton’s unique and pioneering ‘nut free’ environment. 

Job roles with Kinnerton Confectionary

Production Operative

Main responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring health & safety of yourself, colleagues and the working environment.
  • Performing operational tasks within manufacturing & packaging processes.
  • Showcasing flexibility to work operationally to meet business requirements – this could include working in other departments.
  • Working effectively and efficiently to meet set speeds, costs and planned volumes.
Team Leader

Main responsibilities include:

  • Supervising shift teams.
  • Operating a process/ line within the factory.
  • Delivering the production plan to agreed product specifications and performance targets, in compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Food Safety requirements.
Process Operative (Machine Operative)

Main responsibilities include:

  • Operating the machines to the required standards and specifications that are required for the product.
  • Ensuring that the product is up to the correct standards and specifications.
  • Attaining production and quality targets set out for each product
  • Measuring, recording and taking necessary actions with regard to quality and weight checks.
  • Ensuring that the machines are operated in compliance with the controlled document and health and safety policies
  • Ensuring that the machines are changed over correctly and in accordance to the planned change over time.
  • Managing/Monitoring usage of chocolate from tempering units.
Mixer (including Mixing Room Leader)

Main responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining standards of quality and work to waste limits.
  • Performing skilled operational tasks within mixing manufacturing.
  • Completing mixes to the required recipe parameters.
  • Working to the correct speed to achieve costs and planned volume.
  • Ensuring high level of area and machine standards (GMP)
  • Ordering ingredients from the warehouse to ensure they are always available for production.
  • Ensuring the H&S of employees within the mixing room team, in line with the company H&S policy .
  • Ensure that all production is carried out safely and in line with the company food safety policy .
  • Effectively deploying and managing staffing levels in line with production requirements, monitor and measure line performance.

Pay rates with Kinnerton

Your pay rate will start from £11.49 per hour

Shifts with Kinnerton

Variety of full-time and part-time shift patterns are available at Kinnerton Confectionary, shift times may vary depending on demand.

Typical shifts available are: 

Day/night shifts (rotating): (4 on, 4 off)  
Sunday to Friday | 06:00-18:00  | 18:00-06:00 

Fixed shifts:
Days: 06:00-18:00  | Nights: 1800-06:00
