Job Roles at Co-op
We regularly recruit for two key roles within Co-op RDCs:
Warehouse Operatives
As a Warehouse Operative, you’ll play a vital role in getting stock picked, packed, and ready for delivery to Co-op stores. Your day-to-day responsibilities could include:
- Picking stock using voice-controlled systems or scanners
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Working to performance targets
- Keeping work areas clean and safe
You may work in ambient, chilled, or freezer environments, depending on the site. Some lifting and physical activity is required, and roles often involve long periods of standing or walking.
DeKit Operatives
DeKit Operatives are essential to the smooth return and recycling of delivery materials. Responsibilities may include:
- Unloading and sorting returned cages, trays, and crates
- Operating machinery to clean and recycle equipment
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Supporting loading teams as needed
This role requires good attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and some manual handling.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for individuals who bring:

- Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
- Team spirit and a willingness to support colleagues
- Physical fitness for a hands-on role
- Have previous warehouse experience (beneficial but not essential)
