- Prepare, schedule, and deliver an appropriate operator training course, working independently under workplace environment conditions and in line with AiTT guidelines.
- Construct, conduct, and objectively mark a Basic Operating Skills Test.

Experienced FLT Operators: This is for experienced operators who want to become an AiTT qualified instructor to deliver operator training to a standard recognised the ABA.
Our training is delivered at our state-of-the-art facility based in Nechells, Birmingham. However, this course can also be delivered at your premises – please enquire for further details.
Successful candidates are registered with AiTT and awarded a certificate and photo I.D card to Category 1 Instructor/Examiner status.
Eligibility
- Minimum 6-months of experience operating either a counterbalance forklift truck or reach truck.
- Documentary evidence of having completed a
counterbalance forklift truck or reach truck course of Basic Operating Skills within 36 months of the course start date. The operator course must have been conducted by a currently registered AiTT, ITSSAR, LANTRA, NPORS, or RTITB Instructor.
- Completion of AiTT,
Instructor Pre-Course Workbook, provided at the time of booking and presented for marking no later than two weeks before the course start date.
- Learner commitment to complete homework for each evening throughout the course duration. Homework should not exceed two hours per session.
