AiTT FLT Instructor Course

As an accredited training provider, we deliver a comprehensive FLT Instructor course to provide learners with the skills and knowledge needed to prepare and examine operators for the various working environments of a forklift truck.

If you require your staff to train other colleagues internally, then this accredited FLT Instructor course is the perfect addition to your L&D strategy.  

Delivered by an experienced instructor, learners will be guided through a range of practical and theoretical content and upon successful completion of our FLT Instructor course, they will have acquired the necessary skills to: 

  • Demonstrate their instructional ability to conduct both classroom and practical lessons using appropriate instructional techniques. 
  • Discuss their associated knowledge of health and safety, legislation, instructional skills, candidate selection, and practical skills testing. 
  • Prepare, schedule, and deliver an appropriate operator training course, working independently under workplace environment conditions and in line with AiTT guidelines. 
  • Construct, conduct, and objectively mark a Basic Operating Skills Test.

  • With state-of-the-art racking and forklifts, and spacious classroom suite, we have everything learners need to fulfil the practical and theoretical elements of their course. We include a diverse mix of training delivery to cover a variety of learning styles.

Course Level

Experienced FLT Operators: This is for experienced operators who want to become an AiTT qualified instructor to deliver operator training to a standard recognised the ABA.

Location

Our training is delivered at our state-of-the-art facility based in Nechells, Birmingham. However, this course can also be delivered at your premises – please enquire for further details. 

On Completion

Successful candidates are registered with AiTT and awarded a certificate and photo I.D card to Category 1 Instructor/Examiner status. 

Eligibility

  • Minimum 6-months of experience operating either a counterbalance forklift truck or reach truck. 
  • Documentary evidence of having completed a counterbalance forklift truck or reach truck course of Basic Operating Skills within 36 months of the course start date. The operator course must have been conducted by a currently registered AiTT, ITSSAR, LANTRA, NPORS, or RTITB Instructor. 
  • Completion of AiTT,
    Instructor Pre-Course Workbook, provided at the time of booking and presented for marking no later than two weeks before the course start date.
     
  • Learner commitment to complete homework for each evening throughout the course duration. Homework should not exceed two hours per session.
